I once thought that Filofaxes are not known around these parts. But just this morning, when I signed my attendance sheet for a research forum, one of the doctors recognized my Filofax. Though I was at loss at first, because I'm not really carrying an original filofax, I still appreciated, and just smiled. The whole ordeal made me feel warm inside. I'm going to keep using this piece of beauty. :) I am becoming even more inspired to get organized with this thing.
How about you? Have you received comments on your Filofax from someone? Plus points if from a stranger. :) There's always something fuzzy about being recognized by a complete stranger from the things we carry. It means we carry something interesting enough to merit a conversation, even if you barely know each other. :)

Ringofax Cafe, How the name was born
About the Name
Before I get this site operating full blown, I think I have to state the reason for its naming. :) After all, christening is a big event in most world religion. Names are important as they denote identities and provide a purpose. So, without further ado, I will tell the story of the history of the ringofax.
Ringofax
The name occurred to me spontaneously as I mulled over the lack of Filofaxes here in my area, Davao City, Philippines. I hunted for days in department stores, school supplies, and local shops and no one seem to even know what they are. Some who know pointed me to online shopping and scouring the net sure verified that they can only be ordered. Dismayed because I do not have a credit card (still a student here with no income), I decided to settle for local Chinese made ring binders and was happy with them. I feel awkward calling them Filofaxes so thought, hey they are ring binders, duh. So why not call them ringofax? And so I decided to use it here in my site to avoid confusion. :)
Though I do not possess a Filofax, I am still enthusiastic with this venture. And since enrolling in med school my creative juices have had not found an outlet, creating my own templates will surely stimulate my creative side once more. :) so there you go. Ring'o Fax. Or if we are to follow the "File of Facts" origin for Filofax, we have "Ring of Facts" which has a nice ring to it, don't you think? :)
Ringofax Cafe
A cafe is a place to relax, to connect with one's self and other people or to simply pass the time, away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. My new ring binder system is a way for me to reconnect with myself and plan my busy schedule. It is also an outlet for my creativity and a way to vent my frustration. The ringofax act as a sanctuary, a small cafe with which I can exercise my creativity and share it to others. Who knows? I might even discover new friends and new acquaintances who might change my life. Ultimately, this site will become a playground, a playground for new ideas and new ways of improving one's life. To name the site Ringofax Cafe is appropriate name given its purpose. :) I want to change the way I live. I want to evolve from a chaotic and hectic life to a structured, stress-free and productive way of life. Cheers to Filofax for changing an industry and the lives of many. :)
New personal binder -faux filofax, the beginning of a love story
So let's get to the meat of this whole thing and allow me to introduce you to my humble faux filofax ring binder. I bought it at National Book Store for 240 pesos and began printing inserts right away.
We'll see how this goes. :) I even went and purchased some art supplies because I became jealous of the fabulous posts online. :) As a part of its use in my school, I even printed some anatomy pictures and punched them in just to remind me that I have to be serious in my studies. I will be organizing my photos and upload my personalized inserts. I plan to only use my own homemade inserts and I'll be sharing them soon enough. :) Right now, I am still using the inserts that came with it. :) Wish me luck in becoming organized and staying organized. :)

And so, a fox was born- Filofax love.
Just last week, I came across different posts regarding Filofaxes while searching online for planners and organizers. I was so desperate to salvage my medical school life that I finally accepted that I have been neglecting my school work and part of the reason was because I lacked planning and organizational skills. So I have been piling up a mountain of "chapters to read later" and end up not reading any once exams come. So this blog will be detailing my adventure and foray into getting organized, may putting these intentions into words and available for the world to see encourage me to stay committed to a schedule and a much organized and structured way of life. Wish me luck! :)
